Life is a journey of growth and change which we all go through. This journey can be daunting and confusing particularly as children progress towards puberty. To help students prepare for this journey, our Year 4 ‘Step Up Into Growing Up’ Program introduces them to the concepts of the cycle of life and growth, and normalising the varies ages and stages of life. We begin our program by looking at God’s creation (Genesis 1-2), our families and ourselves. Part of growing up is learning to deal with our emotions and feelings. Our sexuality component of the Year 4 Program focuses on students learning the difference between public and private parts, protecting ourselves and identifying unsafe situations, as well as identifying safe adults in our lives who we can reach out for support.
